    Louis Vuitton Opens oma-designed present in osaka

     

    Louis Vuitton: Visionary Journeys is now open on the Nakanoshima Museum of Artwork in Osaka, Japan. Designed by Shohei Shigematsu of OMA, the exhibition occupies 2,200 sq. meters of the museum and is organized into eleven thematic galleries. These are grouped into 4 interconnected zones — historical past, codes, course of behind the craft, and cultural dialogue — that collectively specific the enduring id of the Home.

     

    The exhibition design celebrates spatial selection, with every room conceived as a singular set inside a steady narrative. Shigematsu explains that the scenography goals to translate Louis Vuitton’s legacy into an architectural journey, one which goes past objects to discover concepts.     Monumental Interventions within the Museum Atrium

     

    Guests to Louis Vuitton: Visionary Journeys first encounter eight monumental lanterns, which the team at OMA suspends from the Osaka museum’s five-story atrium. Every 12.5-meter-tall column stacks trunk-like kinds wrapped in Monogram washi paper, organized in six distinctive configurations. The lanterns emphasize the verticality of the atrium whereas casting a smooth, diffuse glow, making a welcoming transition into the exhibition.

     

    Past the atrium, the doorway gallery is anchored by a hemispherical set up composed of 138 genuine Louis Vuitton trunks. Mirrored by the glass ground beneath, the self-supporting construction kinds an entire globe, referencing themes of exploration and international trade. The trunks’ structural integrity alone holds the piece collectively, exemplifying the stability of energy and lightness that defines the House’s craftsmanship.

    Chatting with its context in Osaka, Louis Vuitton and OMA prominently function Japan as each topic and context all through the exhibition. A devoted gallery, Louis Vuitton and Japan, examines inventive and cultural exchanges between the model and the nation. The show spans centuries, from conventional clothes and samurai armor to up to date popular culture, all organized on modular platforms evocative of tatami mats.

     

    Different rooms hint the evolution of Louis Vuitton’s artistic codes.
